Welcome to Kerouac Park!
Thirty years ago the City of Lowell formally dedicated the Jack Kerouac Commemorative in what was then called Eastern Canal Park. The Commemorative honors Lowell’s hometown literary hero and author, whose works have gained international renown. Last year in an effort to restore and revitalize the park, we successfully launched a funding drive in collaboration with MassDevelopment through the civic crowdfunding platform Patronicity. Now known as Kerouac Park, the almost one acre space will provide local residents and visitors with a downtown destination to enjoy music, play table tennis and chess/checkers, take part in group exercise classes, read and celebrate Lowell.
Great music on the stage, plus a variety of food trucks, ping pong, chess and corn hole games! Plenty of room to relax and hang out in the park! Bring a chair or blanket, and enjoy the vibe in historic downtown Lowell.
