Public Art Application

The city approves a variety of public art to enliven public spaces, create a welcoming environment for locals and visitors and help promote local businesses.


Requirements:

  • Completed public art application form, including signature and contact information of property owner and participating, or lead artist(s), along with the address of the proposed location.

  • A rendering of the proposed artwork’s dimensions on the building, property, or structure in question, along with a photo of the intended location.

  • If the intended location for the artwork is within the Downtown Lowell Historic District, applications will be reviewed by the Historic Board for approval.

  • List of proposed materials.

  • The art budget, maintenance plan and who's responsible for maintenance.
