City Hall Street Art

The City of Lowell, through the Department of Planning and Development, invites artists to submit proposals for City Hall Street Art (temporary on-street mural) within existing striped curb extensions along Merrimack Street at City Hall and Cardinal O’Connell Parkway.

Call for Art:

Pride Perspectives

Applications Due: May 24, 2024

Greater Lowell Pride invites LGBTQ+ artists living in or practicing in Lowell to submit their artwork for the Art in City Hall: Pride Perspectives art show. This exhibit will run through June 2024 with a goal of celebrating the diverse experiences and identities within the LGBTQ+ community through various artistic mediums.


Public Art Permit Application

In order to install public art in the City of Lowell, a public art permit is required. The application is filed through the Office of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

Lowell Cultural Council Grants

Lowell Cultural Council grants are reimbursement-based and are open to individual artists, arts organizations, community organizations and municipal agencies.

LCC Grant applications are accepted September-October.
