Past Events

The City of Lowell hosted the second annual free Culinary Celebration on Thursday, December 12th at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. Attendees had the option to support the Lowell Humane Society.

Open Lowell celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month at Tijuana Grill. All are welcome to enjoy a complimentary sampling of authentic Mexican cuisine from a new family-owned restaurant on Market Street

Hidden Battles, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health of active and retired military personnel, and the City of Lowell proudly present the Celebration of Military Service 5K and Festival to honor those who have served and are currently serving in the United States military. Hear Rylie Hegarty’s story about meeting Teo Pique and founding Art Thou Neurodivergent, an art gallery on a mission to provide the neurodivergent community with the opportunity to have their artwork showcased in a gallery setting.

In partnership with the City Manager’s Office and Lowell City Council, Open Lowell celebrated Women’s History Month on Thursday, March 14, from 9:00AM - 11:00AM at local woman-owned business The Coffee Mill. Attendees were welcomed to enjoy a complimentary breakfast pastry.

The City of Lowell and Open Lowell hosted the first annual Culinary Celebration at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium on December 7, 2023. The event featured tastings from over 15 local restaurants, and live performances from DJ Kay-Low and Booty Vortex.

Hear Peter Huynh’s story about starting his restaurant, 1981 Ramen Bar, in Lowell, Massachusetts. Peter has expanded with Tea-Do and District 5 Viet Street Food, two restaurants also located on Merrimack Street.

In March 2023, the City of Lowell launched the Open Lowell initiative with a Women’s History Month celebration at Panela, a woman- and minority-owned business in Lowell.
